Chapter History

The Gamma Phi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta was founded on February 6th, 1960 at East Carolina University. Our house, located at 508 East 11th Street, was constructed for our chapter exclusively and till this day, is the only sorority house at East Carolina that was built for its purpose: to be a sorority house. Through the past 57 years, the Gamma Phi Chapter has made wonderful memories, which can be seen in the many pictures hanging up through our home. We have won national and local awards for our chapter's success including Panhellenic Chapter of the Year, Outstanding Philanthropy Project of the Year, Community Service Project of the Year, Academic Advisor of the Year, Chapter Advisor of the Year, Highest GPA, and much more!

We continue to grow as a chapter and currently have 160 active members.
